The surfboard and passport are two extensions of Marlene Marques, our founder. With a career spanning over two decades in journalism, surfing, and globetrotting, Marlene noticed a gap in the industry — a lack of credible, comprehensive education on surf travel.
She didn't just want to write about the world's best surf destinations or capture the perfect wave in a photo. She also yearned to share her extensive knowledge and practical tips with others. Thus, the Surf Travel Academy was born — a platform designed to teach you the ropes on how to explore the world's oceans like a pro.
But it wasn't enough just to teach you. We also take you from the virtual classroom straight to the glistening waves of far-flung locales, providing you with a full-circle experience that promises to change how you view surf travel forever.
